Apex Trader Funding Platforms Compared (Rithmic vs Tradovate vs WealthCharts)
- Apex Trader Funding offers 3 platforms: Rithmic, Tradovate and WealthCharts. You choose at purchase, cannot convert later and get no refund if you choose wrong. ES round-trip commission is $3.10 on Tradovate and WealthCharts and $3.98 on Rithmic (checked 2026-11-04).
- During the evaluation, the drawdown stops at the profit target balance on Rithmic and WealthCharts, but keeps rising on Tradovate.
- TradingView works through a Tradovate connection. Rithmic does not support Mac. Automated trading is prohibited on every platform, and copy trading is allowed only in the same direction between PAs in your own name.
Which platforms does Apex Trader Funding support? You choose 1 of 3 at purchase
Apex Trader Funding has no trading screen of its own. When you buy an evaluation, you choose where the account connects (the platform) from Rithmic, Tradovate and WealthCharts, and you trade with software that supports that platform.
At a futures prop firm, the platform is what routes your account balance and orders, and charting and order software runs on top of it. Which software you can use depends on the platform.
An Apex Trader Funding platform cannot be converted to another after purchase. If you choose wrong, there is no refund. Apex lists choosing the wrong plan and platform or data outages among the cases with no refund.
Deciding these 4 things before you choose makes it easier.
- The charting and order software you want to use (NinjaTrader, TradingView and so on)
- Whether your computer runs Windows or Mac
- Round-trip commissions for the products you trade most
- Whether the drawdown stops during the evaluation

Rithmic vs Tradovate vs WealthCharts at Apex Trader Funding: what is the difference?
The 3 Apex Trader Funding platforms differ in supported software, how the drawdown behaves during the evaluation, commissions, Mac support and how add-on data is canceled. Per the official information checked on 2026-11-04, they compare as follows.
| Item | Rithmic | Tradovate | WealthCharts |
|---|---|---|---|
| Main software | NinjaTrader and others | NinjaTrader, TradingView | WealthCharts (built-in copier) |
| Drawdown during the evaluation | Locks at the profit target balance | Does not lock; keeps rising | Locks at the profit target balance |
| ES round-trip commission | $3.98 | $3.10 | $3.10 |
| Mac | Not supported (Windows virtual environment needed) | Under review | Under review |
| Add-on data | Expires at month end, no auto-renewal | Cancel with Tradovate | Cancel with WealthCharts |
The official home page says some EUREX exchanges can be traded only on Tradovate. Check the product list on the official home page to see which exchanges this applies to.
Whether the drawdown stops during the evaluation depends on the platform
The biggest difference is whether the maximum drawdown threshold stops during the evaluation. On Rithmic and WealthCharts, the threshold locks once it reaches the balance at the profit target. In the official example, the 50K threshold locks at $53,000. On Tradovate evaluations, the threshold does not stop and keeps rising with your peak balance.
However, the official text is inconsistent about where it locks. The example in the Intraday Trail drawdown article says $53,000 for 50K, while the FAQ in the same article says "Profit Target Balance + $2,000." Both statements remained as of the check date, and Apex does not say which is correct, so this page lists both.
Once you move to the PA (sim funded account), the threshold locks when it reaches the starting balance + $100, regardless of platform. For 50K, the threshold locks at $50,100 at a peak balance of $52,100. The platform difference applies only during the evaluation.
