What is a futures prop firm?
You pay a fee for an evaluation (a test). If you meet a set profit target on a simulated account while following the drawdown rules, you can trade within the firm's capital allocation and receive part of the profits. This site compares six US futures prop firms using the terms of a 50K account.
Which firm costs the least to start?
Among the 50K list prices checked on 2026-11-04, Topstep at $49/mo is the smallest first payment (excluding firms whose price is under review). It is a monthly fee, so you pay every month until you pass. Some firms charge once and others charge monthly, so compare the total cost based on how many months it takes you to pass.
Can I use these firms from my country?
Check each firm's official list of restricted countries. A country not being on the list does not guarantee that you can use the firm. Lucid Trading's terms of use say they are for persons in the United States, and its treatment of users outside the US is under review. Check each firm's official site before you sign up.
What is an activation fee?
It is a fee you pay after passing the evaluation, when you start using the funded account. Of the six firms, some charge an activation fee after passing and some do not. You can check this in the table above and on each firm's page.
Does this site rank or rate the firms?
We do not give rankings or scores. Numbers are taken from each firm's official pages, along with the date we checked them. When a firm's official sources disagree, we show both values with their sources.
