Lucid Trading Rules by Plan: Drawdown, Consistency Rule and Prohibited Activities
- Lucid Trading uses an end-of-day (EOD) trailing drawdown on most plans: the MLL trails your end-of-day balance and locks at the starting balance + $100 once your balance passes the Initial Trail Balance. Only the LucidDaily funded account is always intraday (checked 2026-11-04).
- Profit target, maximum loss limit (MLL) and max contracts are the same on LucidPro, LucidFlex and LucidDaily: at 50K, a $3,000 target, $2,000 MLL and up to 4 minis / 40 micros. The differences are the consistency rule and the drawdown type. Every daily loss limit (DLL) is a soft breach that only stops trading for that day.
- Positions are closed every day by 4:45 PM EST, and you cannot hold overnight. News trading is prohibited only in a LucidDaily funded account. Hedging, HFT and microscalping are prohibited in the official help center.
What are the Lucid Trading rules? 4 groups by plan
Lucid Trading rules are easiest to follow in 4 groups: profit target, maximum loss (drawdown and DLL), consistency rule, and trading hours and prohibited activities. What differs by plan is mainly the consistency rule and the drawdown type. Here they are side by side at 50K.
| Rule (50K) | LucidPro | LucidFlex | LucidDaily | LucidDirect |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Evaluation profit target / MLL | $3,000 / $2,000 | $3,000 / $2,000 | $3,000 / $2,000 | No evaluation / $2,000 |
| Drawdown | EOD in evaluation and funded | EOD in evaluation and funded | Evaluation EOD or intraday, funded intraday | EOD |
| DLL | ON / OFF chosen at purchase (ON is $1,200) | Choose ON / OFF (ON is $1,200) | Choose ON / OFF (ON is $1,200) | $1,200 (before reaching the trail) |
| Evaluation consistency | None (as little as 1 day) | 40% (50% with add-on) | 50% (40% also available) | No evaluation |
| Funded consistency | 40% | None | None | 20% |
| News trading | Allowed | Allowed | Prohibited when funded (1 minute before and after) | Allowed |
On every plan, reaching the MLL breaches (loses) the account. Reaching the DLL only stops trading for that day, and the account stays. Keeping this difference in mind tells you which rules are fatal.

What are the Lucid Trading profit targets and max contracts?
The 3 Lucid Trading plans with an evaluation (LucidPro, LucidFlex, LucidDaily) share the same profit target, MLL and max contracts per size. The difference is whether there is a consistency rule, and the minimum number of days that follows from it.
| Size | Profit target | MLL | Max contracts (mini / micro) |
|---|---|---|---|
| 25K | $1,250 | $1,000 | 2 / 20 |
| 50K | $3,000 | $2,000 | 4 / 40 |
| 100K | $6,000 | $3,000 | 6 / 60 |
| 150K | $9,000 | $4,500 | 10 / 100 |
The minimum is 1 trading day on LucidPro (no consistency rule in the evaluation) and 3 days on LucidFlex (2 with the 50% add-on). The LucidFlex funded account has a scaling plan, so while profit is small you start below max contracts (50K is 2 / 20 while profit is $0 to 999). The LucidPro funded account has no scaling plan, so you can trade max contracts from day 1.

How does the Lucid Trading drawdown (MLL) work on each plan?
The Lucid Trading maximum loss limit (MLL) is an EOD trailing drawdown on LucidPro, LucidFlex, LucidDirect and the LucidDaily evaluation (if you choose EOD). With EOD, the line moves on the balance at the end of the trading day, not on open profit during the day.
How EOD works and when it locks
The MLL trails up with the highest closing balance at the end of each session. Once the balance passes the Initial Trail Balance, the MLL locks at the starting balance + $100 and rises no further.
| Size | MLL | Initial Trail Balance | MLL after lock |
|---|---|---|---|
| 25K | $1,000 | $26,100 | $25,100 |
| 50K | $2,000 | $52,100 | $50,100 |
| 100K | $3,000 | $103,100 | $100,100 |
| 150K | $4,500 | $154,600 | $150,100 |
| LucidDirect 100K | $3,500 | $103,600 | $100,100 |
| LucidDirect 150K | $5,000 | $155,100 | $150,100 |
A 50K example: the starting MLL is $48,000. If the balance at the end of a day reaches $51,000, the MLL rises to $49,000. Once the end-of-day balance passes $52,100, the MLL locks at $50,100. After that, the MLL stays at $50,100 even as the balance grows.
How LucidDaily differs
On LucidDaily you choose EOD or intraday for the evaluation, but the funded account is always intraday regardless of your choice. With an intraday trailing drawdown, the line moves with the balance during the session. The MLL amount is the same as on the other plans.
Drawdown after a payout
On LucidFlex, the MLL automatically rises to the lock level (starting balance + $100) when you request a payout. On LucidPro and LucidDaily, you can only withdraw the amount above the buffer (initial MLL + $100), so a payout never takes your balance below the buffer.

How does the Lucid Trading daily loss limit (DLL) work?
Every Lucid Trading DLL (daily loss limit) is a soft breach. Reaching the DLL stops trading for that day, but you do not lose the account unless you reach the MLL. You can trade again the next trading day.
- On LucidPro, LucidFlex and LucidDaily you choose DLL ON or OFF at purchase (LucidPro cannot be changed later)
- With ON, the fixed DLL is 25K $600, 50K $1,200, 100K $1,800, 150K $2,700 (official sources disagree on LucidPro 25K; see below)
- The LucidDaily DLL does not rise with the MLL
- LucidDirect is 50K $1,200, 100K $2,100, 150K $3,000, and 25K has no DLL (until the Initial Trail Balance is reached)
LucidScale DLL (a DLL that widens with profit)
On the LucidPro funded account and LucidDirect, once the balance passes the Initial Trail Balance, the fixed DLL switches to the LucidScale DLL. The LucidScale DLL is 60% of the highest EOD profit, and once it widens it does not shrink. For example, at 50K with a highest EOD profit of $3,000, the DLL is $1,800.
LucidPro 25K DLL is under review
In the official information checked on 2026-11-04, the LucidPro 25K DLL is stated in different ways. The evaluation and DLL help articles say "None." For the funded account, the funded account article says $600 while the DLL article says "None." Which is current is under review, so check the checkout page and your dashboard.

How does the Lucid Trading consistency rule work?
The Lucid Trading consistency rule checks that your largest daily profit is no more than a set percentage of total profit during the evaluation or payout cycle. The formula is "largest daily profit / total profit." The stage where it applies and the percentage differ by plan.
| Plan | Evaluation | Funded (at payout) |
|---|---|---|
| LucidPro | None | 40% (35% for accounts bought or reset before 2025-11-28 3:00 PM EST) |
| LucidFlex | 40% (50% with add-on) | None |
| LucidDaily | 50% (40% also available) | None |
| LucidDirect | No evaluation | 20% |
Worked example (50K)
To pass the LucidFlex evaluation (40%) at exactly the $3,000 target, your daily profit can be at most $1,200. If you make $1,500 on one day, you do not meet 40% until total profit reaches $3,750 or more. On a LucidPro funded account (40%) with a largest daily profit of $800, you meet the condition once the payout cycle's total profit is $2,000 or more. On a LucidDirect funded account (20%) with a largest daily profit of $800, you need total profit of $4,000 or more.
The 50% add-on allowance
The LucidFlex 50% add-on has a small allowance (cushion). At 50K, up to $1,560 is accepted against 50% of $1,500.
LucidPro 35% and 40%
The LucidPro funded consistency rule is 40% for accounts bought or reset on or after 2025-11-28 3:00 PM EST. Earlier accounts stay at 35%. Which applies to your account depends on its purchase and reset dates.

Trading resumes at 6:00 PM EST Sunday to Thursday. On shortened trading days, close before the market closes. You cannot hold overnight or over the weekend.
| Time (as stated officially) | What happens | Applies to |
|---|---|---|

| 6:00 PM EST | Trading resumes | Sunday to Thursday |

During economic releases
News trading is prohibited only in a LucidDaily funded account. You must be flat (no position) 1 minute before and after high-impact USD releases (red folder), and breaking this is a hard breach that loses the account. News trading is allowed on LucidPro, LucidFlex and LucidDirect.

Lucid Trading prohibited activities and penalties
The Lucid Trading help center prohibits the following.
- Microscalping: flagged when more than 50% of profit comes from trades held 5 seconds or less
- Hedging and HFT (high-frequency trading)
Other activities prohibited in the terms of use (such as spoofing and data feed handling) are under review.
What counts as hedging
Hedging is prohibited in all forms, including between accounts of the same user, with other users and with accounts at other firms. Opposite positions in mini and micro within the same account are accepted, but not across accounts. Holding opposite positions in correlated instruments in separate accounts, such as long ES and short NQ, is also prohibited.
| Violation | Penalty |
|---|---|
| Hedging | Reset to the previous day's balance (lost drawdown is not restored). Repeat violations lead to all accounts being breached and a permanent ban |
| HFT | Written warning the first time. Repeat violations lead to forfeiture of HFT profits, account closure and a permanent ban |
| Microscalping | Manual review and warning. Continuing leads to forfeited profits and a permanent ban |
| Intentionally exceeding scaling limits | That day's profit may be removed |
When accounts are deleted (inactivity)
An account with no trade of at least $1 net P&L within 30 calendar days is treated as abandoned and permanently deleted. A breached account is also deleted automatically if not reset within 30 days. If you will not trade an account for a while, note the dates.
Lucid Trading's terms of use are written for US persons, and use from outside the US is under review. Check the eligible regions in the terms on the official site before you sign up.
