Which platforms can you use with Lucid Trading? CQG and Rithmic on all account types
Lucid Trading has no trading screen of its own; you trade through third-party software. The official supported platforms article says the same list of software can be used on every account type: LucidPro, LucidFlex, LucidDaily and LucidDirect.
The list is split in 2 by the connection that carries data and orders: 3 CQG-based options and 9 Rithmic-based options. The first thing to check is which group the software you want belongs to.
| Group | Supported software | Count |
|---|---|---|
| CQG-based | NinjaTrader, Tradovate, TradingView | 3 |
| Rithmic-based | Quantower (Lucid Partner), Tradesea, MotiveWave, Sierra Chart, Jigsaw, Bookmap, ATAS, R|Trader Pro, MultiCharts | 9 |
Whether you choose the group at purchase, or can switch to the other group after purchase, could not be confirmed from primary sources and is under review. Check on the checkout page or with official support before you buy.

How do CQG and Rithmic differ at Lucid Trading?
At Lucid Trading, choosing CQG or Rithmic determines which software you can use. The help center does not list sim account trading hours separately by group. The difference appears after you move to the real-money LucidLive, in how late you can hold positions.
The Lucid Trading trading hours article says LucidLive does not allow swing trading, and that you can hold positions until 4:45 PM EST on a Tradovate Live account and until 4:15 PM EST on a Rithmic Live account. Rithmic Live requires you to close 30 minutes earlier.
| Account | Holding time limit (stated officially in EST) | What happens | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Sim accounts (Pro, Flex, Direct) | Closed automatically at 4:45 PM EST | Positions are closed for you | No overnight or weekend holds |
| Tradovate Live | Until 4:45 PM EST | Close by this time | No swing trading |
| Rithmic Live | Until 4:15 PM EST | Close by this time | Earlier than Tradovate Live |
| Trading resumes | 6:00 PM EST Sunday to Thursday | Trading reopens | As stated in the trading hours article |
The official site writes EST, but it does not state whether the same Eastern clock time (ET) applies during US daylight saving time, and this is under review. Convert these times to your local time and keep a note.
When you move to LucidLive, all other sim accounts are closed. Whether you can move to LucidLive while keeping the group you used in sim could not be confirmed from primary sources and is under review.

Using NinjaTrader with Lucid Trading
The Lucid Trading supported platforms article lists NinjaTrader as CQG-based software. It covers all account types, so you can use it on LucidPro or LucidDirect.
Connection steps and license are under review
The specific steps to connect NinjaTrader to a Lucid Trading account, and how the NinjaTrader license works (whether you need to buy one), could not be confirmed from primary sources as of 2026-11-04. This article treats them as under review. If you get stuck connecting, ask on Lucid Trading live chat.
Running automated strategies on NinjaTrader
If you run your own strategy on NinjaTrader, Lucid Trading trading rules still apply. The help center allows automated trading as long as you follow the rules, and system malfunctions are your responsibility. Activity that counts as HFT or microscalping is prohibited. The automated trading section of this article covers this in detail.

Tradovate and TradingView at Lucid Trading
In the Lucid Trading platform list, Tradovate and TradingView are also CQG-based software. You can use Tradovate as a trading screen and TradingView to place orders from charts.
After moving to LucidLive, the holding time limit for Tradovate Live is stated as 4:45 PM EST. This is the same time as the automatic close on sim accounts.
TradingView pricing and data handling are under review
Whether you need a paid TradingView plan to use it with a Lucid Trading account, and whether data is delayed, are not stated in Lucid Trading primary sources and are under review. Tradovate usage fees are also under review.

Lucid Trading Rithmic options (Quantower and 8 others)
On the Lucid Trading Rithmic side, 9 software options are supported. Rithmic is the connection that carries data and orders, and you actually trade on one of these screens. Quantower is labeled Lucid Partner in the official list.
- Quantower (Lucid Partner)
- Tradesea
- MotiveWave
- Sierra Chart
- Jigsaw
- Bookmap
- ATAS
- R|Trader Pro
- MultiCharts
Order flow tools such as Bookmap and ATAS are also on the list. However, whether market depth (Level 2) data is included or charged separately is not stated in primary sources and is under review. License fees for each software are also under review.
On LucidLive, a Rithmic Live account can hold positions only until 4:15 PM EST. Note that this is 30 minutes earlier than the CQG-based Tradovate Live.

Can you use automated trading and trade copiers at Lucid Trading?
The Lucid Trading help center allows automated trading systems and trade copiers. The conditions are that you follow the rules and that malfunctions are your responsibility. At the same time, the help center prohibited activities articles list prohibitions that also apply to automated trading.
| Prohibited | What the official rule says |
|---|---|
| HFT (high-frequency trading) | Written warning the first time. Repeat violations lead to forfeiture of HFT profits, account closure and a permanent ban |
| Microscalping | Flagged when more than 50% of profit comes from trades held 5 seconds or less. Manual review and warning; continuing leads to forfeited profits and a permanent ban |
| Hedging | Prohibited between your own accounts, with other users and with other firms. Opposite positions in separate accounts, including in correlated instruments, are not allowed |
Trade copiers and the official hedging prohibition
The Lucid Trading help center article on hedging (Prohibited Hedging) prohibits all hedging, including between accounts of the same user, with other users and with other firms. Opposite positions in mini and micro within the same account are allowed, but not in separate accounts, and this also applies to correlated instruments such as long ES and short NQ in separate accounts. A violation resets you to the previous day's balance (drawdown used is not restored), and repeat violations lead to closure of all accounts and a permanent ban.
Trade copiers themselves are allowed in the help center, on condition that you follow the rules. How coordinated trading with others and trading on behalf of others are treated is under review.
On LucidDaily, watch the 1 minute before and after news
In a LucidDaily funded account, you must have no open position 1 minute before and after high-impact USD economic releases. A violation is a hard breach (the account is closed). If you run automated trading on LucidDaily, set it so no orders go out during this window. Trading during releases is allowed on LucidPro, LucidFlex and LucidDirect.

What can you trade at Lucid Trading, and what are the commissions?
Lucid Trading commissions are listed in the help center approved products and commissions article as per-side amounts (1 entry or 1 exit) on sim accounts. A round turn of 1 contract is twice the per-side amount.
| Instrument | Per side, 1 contract | Round turn, 1 contract (approx.) |
|---|---|---|
| ES, NQ, RTY, NKD, YM (equity index minis) | $1.75 | $3.50 |
| MES, MNQ, M2K, MYM (equity index micros) | $0.50 | $1.00 |
| 6A, 6B, 6C, 6E, 6J, 6S, 6N (currencies) | $2.40 | $4.80 |
| CL, QM, NG (energy) | $2.00 | $4.00 |
| MCL (micro crude oil) | $0.50 | $1.00 |
| QG (e-mini natural gas) | $1.30 | $2.60 |
| PL, HG, GC, SI (metals) | $2.30 | $4.60 |
| MGC (micro gold) | $0.80 | $1.60 |
| SIL (micro silver) | $1.60 | $3.20 |
| HE, LE, ZS, ZC, ZL, ZM, ZW (agriculture and livestock) | $2.80 | $5.60 |
This table shows sim account amounts. Whether commissions change on LucidLive or by group (CQG or Rithmic) could not be confirmed from primary sources and is under review. On LucidLive there are also profit-based contract limits per exchange (CME, CBOT, NYMEX, COMEX).
Commission example
If you trade 10 round turns of MES a day, commissions are $10. Over 20 days that is $200. The same number of ES round turns costs $35 a day. The more often you trade, the larger the effect of commissions on your P&L.

How to choose a Lucid Trading platform, and items under review
The Lucid Trading help center lists supported software but does not say which one to choose. This table lets you trace the group from the software you want.
| What you want to use | Group |
|---|---|
| NinjaTrader | CQG-based |
| Ordering from TradingView | CQG-based |
| Tradovate trading screen | CQG-based |
| Quantower (Lucid Partner) | Rithmic-based |
| Sierra Chart, MotiveWave, MultiCharts | Rithmic-based |
| Bookmap, ATAS, Jigsaw | Rithmic-based |
| Tradesea, R|Trader Pro | Rithmic-based |
If you are unsure, checking these 3 points in order makes the choice easier.
- Whether the trading software you want is CQG-based or Rithmic-based
- Whether the 4:15 PM EST close time (Rithmic Live) would be a problem if you reach LucidLive
- Whether you have to pay that software's license and data fees yourself (under review in Lucid Trading official sources)
Items under review
- Whether the group is chosen at purchase or can be changed after purchase
- Connection steps for each software
- Data feed fees, market depth (Level 2) fees and license fees
- Whether commissions change on LucidLive or by group
- Whether the EST trading hours refer to the same clock time (ET) during US daylight saving time
This article was checked on the Lucid Trading official site and help center on 2026-11-04. Before choosing software, check the latest support in the official supported platforms article.
