Apex Trader Funding vs My Funded Futures: Pricing, Drawdown and Payouts on 50K Accounts
Apex Trader Funding vs My Funded Futures: both sell 50K evaluations as a one-time payment with the same $3,000 profit target and $2,000 max drawdown, but Apex Trader Funding's EOD Trail adds a $129 activation fee after you pass and expires after 30 calendar days, while My Funded Futures (MFFU) Builder charges no activation fee. The other differences are where the drawdown line stops, the path to a payout and how you receive money outside the US. Every figure was checked on 2026-11-04 on both firms' official sites and help centers, using the same 50K account terms.
- What you pay on passing differs. Apex Trader Funding's EOD Trail 50K (Standard) costs $590 for the evaluation plus a $129 activation fee, while My Funded Futures Builder 50K costs only $153 for the evaluation, with no activation fee.
- Deadlines work differently. Apex Trader Funding evaluations expire 30 calendar days after purchase, with no resets. My Funded Futures states no evaluation deadline, but accounts may be closed after 7 calendar days in a row without trading.
- Payouts are shaped differently. Apex Trader Funding's PA has a 100% split for up to 6 payouts, paid through Plane outside the US. My Funded Futures Builder has an 80% split and moves to Live after 5 Sim payouts, paid through Riseworks. Both firms publish restricted-country lists; check whether your country is listed, and keep in mind that not being listed is not a guarantee of eligibility.
Quick answer: which conditions favor which firm?
You do not want to pay anything extra after passing
My Funded Futures Builder, or Apex Trader Funding No Activation Fee
My Funded Futures charges a $0 activation fee on every plan and size. To avoid the activation fee at Apex Trader Funding, you have to choose a more expensive evaluation type: on 50K, EOD Trail is $1,190 and Intraday Trail is $799.
You want to work through the evaluation at your own pace without a 30-day cutoff
Apex Trader Funding evaluations expire at 6:00 PM ET on Day 30, with no extensions or resets, so you have to buy again. My Funded Futures states no evaluation deadline, but accounts may be closed after 7 calendar days in a row without trading, and the reset fee is under review.
You want to keep all your profit after passing, with no split
Apex Trader Funding's PA has a 100% profit split. However, the per-payout cap on 50K EOD runs from $1,500 to $3,000, and the PA is closed after the 6th payout. My Funded Futures Builder pays 80%, with a $2,000 cap per cycle.
You want the fewest days from passing to your first payout
Compare required days and review speed
Both firms need about $2,600 in profit from the start for the first payout. The difference is days: Apex Trader Funding needs 5 qualifying days ($250 or more per day; another official article says "trade 8 days with 5 days of $50 or more", which is under review), while My Funded Futures Builder allows requests from 48 hours after your first trade with 2 qualifying days per cycle. Most My Funded Futures reviews are instant, while Apex Trader Funding reviews take up to 2 business days.
This is not a ranking. Pick the firm that matches your own conditions, such as costs after passing, deadlines and how you receive payouts.
How do the 50K accounts compare? Apex EOD Trail vs MFFU Builder
For this comparison, the main columns are Apex Trader Funding's EOD Trail 50K Standard and My Funded Futures' Builder 50K. Both are built the same way: a $2,000 drawdown that rises based on end-of-day balances, a $1,000 daily loss limit that only stops trading for the day, no evaluation consistency rule and a 1-day minimum. With the evaluations matched, the differences in cost and payouts are easier to see.
Apex Trader Funding's current products are Intraday Trail and EOD Trail, launched on 2026-03-01. Legacy accounts, which are back on sale for a limited time, have different rules and are not covered here.

Apex Trader Funding's 4 types of 50K
Apex Trader Funding's 50K comes in 4 types, combining how the line moves (Intraday or EOD) with whether there is an activation fee (Standard or No Activation Fee). All have the same $3,000 profit target and $2,000 max drawdown.
| Apex Trader Funding 50K | Evaluation list price (one-time) | Activation fee after passing | Drawdown type | Daily loss limit during evaluation |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| EOD Trail Standard | $590 | $129 | Recalculated at the close | $1,000 |

How do costs differ when both are one-time? Activation fees and the 30-day limit
Both firms sell evaluations as a one-time payment with no monthly auto-renewal. Costs still differ for two reasons: Apex Trader Funding's Standard charges an activation fee after passing, and its evaluation expires after 30 calendar days, after which you have to buy again.
Apex Trader Funding evaluations expire at 6:00 PM ET on Day 30, with no extensions or resets. After passing, you must activate the PA within 7 calendar days of the "Passed" status, or you lose the right to it. My Funded Futures made new purchases from 2026-08-25 a one-time payment, and resets can be used regardless of purchase date, but the reset fee could not be confirmed on the official pages.
Total if you pass in 1, 2 or 3 months
The table below shows the total by how long it takes to pass. Apex Trader Funding assumes you buy the evaluation again each month and adds the activation fee once at passing. My Funded Futures is a one-time payment, so the total assumes it does not grow with time as long as you do not fail or reset. If you fail and reset, the reset fee, which is under review, is added.
Prices are official list prices as of 2026-11-04. Sale and discount prices are not included. Taxes and payment fees are not included either.
| 50K (evaluation fee + activation fee) | Pass in 1 month | Pass in 2 months | Pass in 3 months |
|---|---|---|---|
| Apex Trader Funding EOD Trail Standard | $719 | $1,309 | $1,899 |
| Apex Trader Funding EOD Trail No Activation Fee | $1,190 | $2,380 | $3,570 |
| Apex Trader Funding Intraday Trail Standard | $348 | $597 | $846 |
| Apex Trader Funding Intraday Trail No Activation Fee | $799 | $1,598 | $2,397 |
| My Funded Futures Builder | $153 | $153 | $153 |
| My Funded Futures Builder ($1,500 max drawdown version) | $125 | $125 | $125 |
If you pass in 1 month, Apex Trader Funding's EOD Trail Standard costs $719 (the $590 evaluation plus the $129 activation fee), and My Funded Futures Builder 50K costs $153. Apex Trader Funding's lowest option, Intraday Trail Standard, costs $348, but it uses a different drawdown type.
Refunds and payment methods
- Apex Trader Funding refunds: none at all. Initial purchases, activation fees, data fees, choosing the wrong plan or connection, and platform or data outages are all excluded.
- My Funded Futures refunds: the official sources differ. The terms page says that if you have made no trades (including no access to market data) and request within 14 days of purchase, you get back the amount paid minus a non-refundable $75. The help article says accounts that are active with no trades get a full refund within 14 days, and crypto payments are excluded.
- Apex Trader Funding payment methods: Visa, Mastercard and Discover in your own name. American Express, gift cards and crypto are not accepted.
- My Funded Futures payment methods: Visa, Mastercard, Google Pay and Apple Pay (some US states only), and crypto (not available in some countries). Only cards in your own name are accepted, and prepaid cards are not.

How do the rules differ? Where the line stops, contracts after passing and inactivity
The drawdown line during evaluation
Apex Trader Funding's EOD Trail recalculates the line at the 4:59:59 PM ET close. The line sits $2,000 below the highest closing balance, is checked in real time during the day, and touching it with an open loss is a fail. Whether the line stops during evaluation depends on the connection: on Rithmic and WealthCharts it locks once it reaches the profit target balance, while on Tradovate it keeps rising without locking.
My Funded Futures Builder also uses EOD Trailing, where the line rises when the end-of-day balance sets a new high. Where the line stops during evaluation could not be confirmed in the official Builder articles and is under review.
After passing, both lines stop at the start plus $100
In the sim funded account after passing, both firms stop the line on the same principle. In Apex Trader Funding's PA, the line locks at $50,100 once the highest balance reaches $52,100. In My Funded Futures Sim Funded, the line also locks at the start plus $100 once profit reaches $2,100, which is the drawdown amount plus $100. However, My Funded Futures Sim Funded shows the starting balance as $0, so the numbers look different on screen.
| Item (50K) | Apex Trader Funding EOD Trail | My Funded Futures Builder |
|---|---|---|
| Max position size (evaluation) | mini 6 contracts, micro 60 contracts | mini 4 contracts, micro 40 contracts |
| Max position size (after passing) | PA: 2 to 4 contracts based on the previous day's profit | Sim Funded: 4 contracts, same as evaluation |
| Daily loss limit after passing | PA: $1,000 to $3,000 based on profit | $1,000, same as evaluation |
| After passing | Activate the PA within 7 calendar days of "Passed" (creation takes up to 6 hours) | Move to Sim Funded right away from the dashboard. A review of up to 24 hours may apply |
| Number of accounts | PA: up to 20 per household, no limit on evaluations | 10 evaluations at once, 1 Builder 50K Sim Funded account |
| Inactivity | PA: needs 2 days with net profit of $50 or more within 30 calendar days | One-time accounts may close after 7 calendar days in a row without trading |
Apex Trader Funding allows more contracts in evaluation, but the PA starts at 2 contracts and increases as the previous day's profit reaches $1,500 and then $3,000. My Funded Futures Builder keeps the same contract count after passing.

Trading hours and prohibited activity
Neither firm allows holding overnight. Apex Trader Funding requires all positions to be closed by 4:59 PM ET, and closing them is the trader's responsibility. My Funded Futures closes positions automatically at 4:10 PM EST (the official page says EST, and how this applies during US daylight saving time is under review). On holiday early-close days there is no automatic close, so you fail if you do not close positions yourself.
Automated trading, economic news and hedging
- Automated trading: Apex Trader Funding states "No Automation or Algorithm Usage allowed". My Funded Futures allows automation set up by you, but strategies that exploit favorable simulated fills and HFT are prohibited.
- Economic news: Apex Trader Funding allows normal strategies, but prohibits strategies such as placing orders on both sides to bet on the outcome. My Funded Futures allows trading through Tier 1 releases in evaluation and Builder Sim Funded, but prohibits straddle-type strategies aimed at the moment right after a release.
- Hedging: Apex Trader Funding prohibits opposite positions in the same or correlated products (mini and micro, ES and YM and so on), including across multiple accounts and within the same household. My Funded Futures prohibits opposite positions in the same underlying (NQ and MNQ and so on).
- Copy trading: Apex Trader Funding allows it between PAs in your own name in the same direction, and My Funded Futures allows it on all account types. Both prohibit copying with other traders.

How do payouts compare? Days to the first payout, caps and the path to Live
At both firms, payouts come from the sim funded account after passing: the Performance Account (PA) at Apex Trader Funding and Sim Funded at My Funded Futures. The profit you need before the first payout is a balance of $52,600 or more at Apex Trader Funding and the $2,100 buffer plus $500 at My Funded Futures, so about $2,600 from the start at both.
| Item (50K) | Apex Trader Funding PA (EOD) | My Funded Futures Builder Sim Funded |
|---|---|---|
| Days before you can request | 5 qualifying days ($250 or more per day, need not be consecutive). Another article says "trade 8 days with 5 days of $50 or more" (under review) | 48 hours after your first trade. 2 qualifying days per cycle |
| Balance and profit conditions | Balance of $52,600 or more (the $52,100 Safety Net must be kept at all times) | Profit $500 above the $2,100 buffer |
| Consistency | Since the last payout, your largest profit day must be under 50% of net profit | 50% |
| Cap per payout | From $1,500 on the 1st to $3,000 on the 6th | $2,000 per cycle |
| Minimum amount | $500 | $500 |
| Profit split | 100% | 80% |
| Number of payouts and next stage | PA closes after the 6th payout. Live is by invitation | Up to 5 payouts in Sim. Moves to Live after the 5th is approved |
Apex Trader Funding's EOD PA caps each payout at $1,500, $1,500, $2,000, $2,500, $2,500 and $3,000, for a total of $13,000 over 6 payouts. My Funded Futures Builder caps each cycle at $2,000, which is $1,600 after the 80% split.
For Apex Trader Funding's qualifying days, the payout rules article says 5 days, while the payout methods article says "trade at least 8 days, with 5 days of $50 or more". The firm does not state which applies, so we show both.
How the path to Live differs
This is where the two firms differ most. Apex Trader Funding's PA closes after 6 payouts, and moving to a funded Live account is by invitation at the team's discretion. The Live profit split is 90%. My Funded Futures Builder moves to Live once the 5th Sim payout is approved, and Live pays an 80% split with daily payouts and a $250 minimum. The overview article also lists reaching the $100,000 Sim cap, among other things, as a condition for moving.

What should you check before signing up? Eligibility, ID checks and support
Neither firm officially states that it can be used from a particular country. This section lists only what Apex Trader Funding's and My Funded Futures' terms and help pages say. Points the official pages do not cover are marked "Not stated officially. Check the official site before you sign up."
Restricted-country lists and what happens while traveling
- Apex Trader Funding: lists 87 countries and regions where new and additional accounts are not available (as of 2026-11-04). It decides by your government-issued ID, main residence, mailing address and bank account country, and using a payment method issued in a restricted country can lead to immediate termination. While you are in a restricted country, you cannot buy, request payouts or trade.
- My Funded Futures: decides by citizenship or residency and restricts 90 countries and regions (as of 2026-11-04). While traveling in a restricted country you can trade, but you cannot make new purchases or resets.
- Not being on a list is not a guarantee that you can use the service. Both lists may be updated. Check whether your country is listed on both firms' official pages before you sign up.
Operating company and governing law
Apex Trader Funding's terms of use describe the operator as "Apex, a Texas corporation headquartered in Austin, Texas" and provide that disputes are governed by Texas law and resolved by binding arbitration under AAA rules in Travis County. My Funded Futures is operated by "MyFunded Futures, LLC", and its terms name Texas law as the governing law and say the arbitration clause takes precedence. How consumer protections in your country apply is not stated officially by either firm, so check the official site before you sign up.

FAQ
Apex and MFFU are both one-time payments, so what is the difference?
The activation fee after passing and the evaluation deadline. Apex Trader Funding's EOD Trail 50K (Standard) costs $590 for the evaluation plus a $129 activation fee after passing, and the evaluation expires 30 calendar days after purchase. My Funded Futures Builder 50K costs only $153 for the evaluation with a $0 activation fee; it states no evaluation deadline, but accounts may be closed after 7 calendar days in a row without trading (checked 2026-11-04).

Including activation fees, how big is the 50K cost difference?
If you pass in 1 month, the list-price totals are $719 for Apex Trader Funding's EOD Trail Standard, $348 for Intraday Trail Standard, and $1,190 (EOD) or $799 (Intraday) for the No Activation Fee versions. My Funded Futures Builder 50K costs $153. Because Apex Trader Funding requires buying again after 30 days, the gap grows the longer it takes.

My Funded Futures resets can be used regardless of purchase date, but the reset fee could not be confirmed on the official pages and is under review. At both firms, the evaluation ends the moment you touch the max drawdown.

How many days and how much profit do you need for the first payout after passing?
Both need about $2,600 in profit from the start. Apex Trader Funding's EOD PA needs a balance of $52,600 or more and 5 qualifying days ($250 or more per day) (the payout methods article still says "trade 8 days with 5 days of $50 or more"). My Funded Futures Builder 50K lets you request from 48 hours after your first trade, with 2 qualifying days and profit $500 above the $2,100 buffer.
