Which one is cheaper cannot be settled yet: Apex Trader Funding EOD Trail Standard 50K costs a one-time $590 plus a $129 activation fee after passing, while the LucidPro list price for the same size is under review and LucidPro charges no activation fee (official information checked 2026-11-04). Both sell one-time evaluations, but they differ in activation fees, the evaluation deadline, payout caps and counts, and how you receive payouts outside the US.
- Both sell one-time evaluations. For 50K, Apex Trader Funding EOD Trail Standard has a $590 list price and a $129 activation fee after passing; the LucidPro price is under review, and there is no activation fee.
- On 50K, the $3,000 profit target, the $2,000 maximum drawdown and the EOD method, where the line rises with the end-of-day balance, are the same. What differs is where the line stops, the daily loss limit, the evaluation deadline and the payout requirements.
- The profit split is 100% in the Apex Trader Funding PA and 90% in the LucidPro Funded account. Lucid Trading's terms of use are written for US persons; use from outside the US is under review. Check the regions covered by its terms of use on the official site before you sign up.
Quick answer: which firm fits which trader
You do not want to pay an activation fee after passing
LucidPro, or Apex Trader Funding No Activation Fee
Lucid Trading plans that are on general sale have no activation fee after passing. Apex Trader Funding also offers types with a $0 activation fee in exchange for a higher evaluation price; 50K EOD Trail is a one-time $1,190.
You want an end-of-day drawdown
Apex Trader Funding EOD Trail, or LucidPro
Both recalculate the line from the end-of-day balance and enforce it in real time during the next session. LucidPro stops the line at $50,100 once the balance exceeds $52,100, while in the Apex Trader Funding evaluation it depends on the connection.
You are fine with a line that rises with the intraday high balance
Apex Trader Funding Intraday Trail, or LucidDaily
The Apex Trader Funding Intraday Trail 50K evaluation list price is $249. LucidDaily lets you choose EOD or Intraday drawdown for the evaluation and always uses Intraday after passing, but its price is under review.
You want to reach your first payout quickly
Check evaluation days and payout requirements together
At both firms you can pass the evaluation in as little as 1 day. An Apex Trader Funding PA payout needs 5 qualifying days (another official article says "trade 8 days, with 5 days of $50 or more"). LucidPro does not state minimum days (under review) and requires $500 or more profit per cycle and 40% consistency.
This is not a ranking. Pick the firm that matches your own conditions, such as activation fees, drawdown type and days to your first payout.
Apex Trader Funding vs Lucid Trading 50K comparison table: EOD Trail vs LucidPro
The current Apex Trader Funding products are Intraday Trail and EOD Trail, launched on 2026-03-01 (the old Legacy product is back on sale for a limited time, but its rules differ, so it is not covered here). Lucid Trading has 4 plans on general sale: LucidPro, LucidFlex, LucidDaily and LucidDirect.
For the main comparison we chose the Apex Trader Funding EOD Trail Standard (the type that charges an activation fee after passing) and LucidPro, since both use an end-of-day (EOD) drawdown and have list prices published officially. LucidFlex also uses EOD, but its price is under review, so it is not the main column.

Apex Trader Funding Intraday Trail and No Activation Fee
The Apex Trader Funding Intraday Trail also has the same $3,000 target and $2,000 maximum drawdown on 50K; the line follows the highest balance including open profit, and there is no daily loss limit during the evaluation.
| Apex Trader Funding 50K | Evaluation list price (one-time) | Activation fee after passing | Drawdown type | Daily loss limit in evaluation |

Which is cheaper? Both are one-time, but activation fees and deadlines change the total
An Apex Trader Funding evaluation is a one-time payment with 30 calendar days of access from purchase, and it expires at 6:00 PM ET on Day 30. There are no extensions or resets, so if you fail or run out of time you buy again. After passing, Standard requires paying the PA activation fee.
Lucid Trading is also a one-time payment, with no monthly charges or auto-renewal, and no activation fee after passing. The help center says there is no evaluation deadline and you can take as long as you need to pass. If you fail by hitting the maximum drawdown, you buy a paid reset from the dashboard. There are no automatic or free resets.
The table below shows the total if you pass in month 1, month 2 or month 3. For Apex Trader Funding, it assumes you buy one evaluation per month. LucidPro list price and reset fee are under review, so its totals are under review too. The LucidPro evaluation has no deadline (help center).
Prices are official list prices as of 2026-11-04. Sale and discount prices are not included. Taxes and payment fees are not included either. The LucidPro price is under review (check the official site).
| 50K (evaluation + activation fee) | Pass in 1 month | Pass in 2 months | Pass in 3 months |
|---|---|---|---|
| Apex Trader Funding EOD Trail Standard | $719 | $1,309 | $1,899 |
| Apex Trader Funding EOD Trail No Activation Fee | $1,190 | $2,380 | $3,570 |
| Apex Trader Funding Intraday Trail Standard | $348 | $597 | $846 |
| Apex Trader Funding Intraday Trail No Activation Fee | $799 | $1,598 | $2,397 |
| LucidPro (one reset per month) | Under review | Under review | Under review |
| LucidPro (passing without failing) | Under review | Under review | Under review |
If you pass in 1 month, Apex Trader Funding EOD Trail Standard costs $719 ($590 evaluation plus $129 activation fee). The LucidPro total is under review because its list price and reset fee are under review.
LucidDirect, which has no evaluation (50K list price under review), and LucidFlex and LucidDaily, whose list prices are under review, are not included in the table.
Refunds and payment methods
- Apex Trader Funding: no refunds at all (including first purchases, activation fees, data fees and choosing the wrong plan). You pay with a Visa, Mastercard or Discover card in your own name; American Express and crypto are not accepted.
- Lucid Trading: no refunds for accounts that have been traded (regardless of number of trades, results or technical issues). Accounts that have not been traded are considered at the company's discretion. Accepted payments are Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover, Diners Club and Maestro.

How do the rules differ? Drawdown, daily loss limit, consistency and trading hours
How the drawdown line moves
The Apex Trader Funding EOD Trail recalculates the line at the 4:59:59 PM ET close to "$2,000 below the highest end-of-day balance" and applies it in real time during the next session (touching it with an open loss also fails the account). During the evaluation, on Rithmic and WealthCharts accounts the line locks once it reaches the profit target balance; on Tradovate accounts it does not lock. In the PA after passing, the line locks once it reaches $50,100, the starting balance + $100.
The LucidPro drawdown also rises with the highest end-of-session balance. On 50K, once the balance exceeds the $52,100 Initial Trail Balance, the line locks at $50,100, the "starting balance + $100". This works the same in the evaluation and the Funded account.
Daily loss limit and consistency
The Apex Trader Funding EOD Trail evaluation has a fixed $1,000 daily loss limit; hitting it only stops trading for the day and does not fail the account. For LucidPro, you choose the daily loss limit ON or OFF at purchase and cannot change it later. ON is $1,200 on 50K, and it is always a soft breach (trading stops for the day, and the account stays as long as you do not reach the maximum drawdown).
Neither firm has a consistency rule in the evaluation. For payouts after passing, the Apex Trader Funding PA requires "your largest profit day to be less than 50% of net profit since the last payout", and LucidPro requires "your largest daily profit in the payout cycle to be 40% or less of total profit". The LucidPro 40% applies to accounts purchased or reset on or after 2025-11-28 3:00 PM EST; earlier accounts use 35%.
| Item (50K) | Apex Trader Funding | Lucid Trading LucidPro |
|---|---|---|
| Maximum position (evaluation) | 6 mini, 60 micro | 4 mini, 40 micro |
| Maximum position (after passing) | PA: 2 to 4 contracts depending on profit | 4 mini, 40 micro (no scaling; full size from day 1) |
| Daily loss limit after passing | PA: $1,000 to $3,000 depending on profit | Optional fixed $1,200; 60% of the highest EOD profit once the balance exceeds $52,100 |
| Steps after passing | Activate the PA within 7 calendar days of the "Passed" status | Move to Funded with no activation fee (about 5 to 30 minutes after reaching the profit target) |
| Funded accounts allowed | PA: up to 20 per household | Funded: up to 5 per household (up to 10 including evaluations) |
| Inactivity | PA: 2 days with net profit of $50 or more required in every 30 calendar days | Deleted as abandoned if there is no trade with net P&L of $1 or more within 30 calendar days |
Trading hours and prohibited activities
Neither firm allows holding positions overnight or over the weekend. Apex Trader Funding requires all positions to be closed by 4:59 PM ET, and the trader is responsible for it. Lucid Trading Pro, Flex and Direct require all positions to be closed by 4:45 PM EST Monday to Friday, and remaining positions are closed automatically (this alone is not a failure). Lucid Trading writes the time as EST, and how it applies during US daylight saving time is under review.
- Economic news: Apex Trader Funding allows trading with normal strategies; placing orders on both sides to bet on the outcome is prohibited. LucidPro, Flex and Direct allow news trading, while LucidDaily prohibits it (a violation is a hard breach that loses the account).
- Automated trading: Apex Trader Funding states "No Automation or Algorithm Usage allowed". The Lucid Trading help center allows automated trading and trade copying.
- Short holds and hedging: both firms prohibit HFT and holding opposite positions in the same or correlated products across accounts. At Lucid Trading, if more than 50% of profit comes from trades held 5 seconds or less, the account is subject to review.

How do payouts compare? Requirements, caps and methods outside the US
At both firms, payouts come from a simulated funded account after passing (the PA at Apex Trader Funding, the Funded account at Lucid Trading). Moving to a real-capital account is decided by each company.
| Item (50K) | Apex Trader Funding PA (EOD) | Lucid Trading LucidPro Funded |
|---|---|---|
| Days required | 5 qualifying days ($250 or more each, not necessarily in a row) | Under review (the payout article does not state minimum days) |
| Other requirements | 50% consistency, balance of $52,600 or more | $500 or more profit per cycle, 40% consistency, nothing withdrawable up to the $52,100 buffer |
| Cap per payout | $1,500 for the 1st up to $3,000 for the 6th | $2,000 for the 1st, $2,500 from the 2nd |
| Minimum | $500 | $500 |
| Profit split | 100% | 90% |
| Number of payouts | PA closes after 6 payouts | The 5th payout is the last; after that you are reviewed for a move to live (not guaranteed) |
| When you can request | At most once a week | No payout window; any time you meet the requirements |
For the Apex Trader Funding EOD PA, the caps per payout are $1,500, $1,500, $2,000, $2,500, $2,500 and $3,000, for a total of $13,000 over 6 payouts.
Official Apex Trader Funding articles describe the qualifying days differently. The payout rules article says 5 days, and the payout method article says "trade at least 8 days, with 5 of them at $50 or more". Neither says which one applies, so both are shown and marked as under review.
For LucidPro accounts with the daily loss limit ON, On Demand Payouts are available, letting you request from that day's profit during the session (6:00 PM to 3:45 PM ET). Requesting stops trading until the end of that trading day. Requests cannot be canceled or edited.
The LucidPro split is 90% (accounts purchased or reset before 2025-11-28 3:00 PM EST get 100% of the first $10,000). On a $2,000 payout you receive $1,800, and payout method fees are not stated officially.
